Congratulations to all who finished… and to all who stepped up to the Start Line. You are all “Champions” in our eyes.

Two Weeks and Counting…

Well, we are just a little more than two weeks away from the 2011 running of Dirty Kanza 200. The books are now closed on Rider Registration & Transfers… T-Shirts and prizing are rolling in… Number Plates are at the printer… Maps are printed and stuffed into baggies… We have even taken delivery of the first-ever Dirty Kanza Trading Cards!!! All the pieces are falling into place for our biggest and best event ever.

We have received quite a few entries in the “Why I Should Win a Free Salsa Cycles Frameset” Contest, some of which are actually pretty darn good. Judging is now underway, and we’ll announce our Winner at the Riders’ Meeting on the evening of Friday, June 3rd, inside the beautiful Emporia Granada Theater. You won’t want to miss it, as we’ll also have LOTS of swag to give away.

Are you bringing that “special someone” to support you while you ride 200 miles on June 4th? If so, offer to feed them Friday evening at the Emporia Farmers’ Market “Pasta Paloosa” pasta feed. Also, encourage them to sign up for the DKLite Saturday morning – they will still be able to make it to your first checkpoint with time to spare AND get a little bit of a ride in too!

Well, that’s about it for now. We look forward to seeing all of you in Emporia, the weekend of June 3-5.

DirtRag Magazine Ups the Ante on DK200 Video Contest…

Last week, I received a phone call from my good friend Josh Patterson, Editor at DirtRag Magazine. Josh is a DK200 Veteran and passionate about gravel grinding. He told me DirtRag was wanting to kickstart our Dirty Kanza 200 Video Contest. Josh shared some ideas… we kicked things around a bit… then Josh made a few more phone calls to further sweeten the deal. Forget everything you might have seen previously about the Dirty Kanza 200 Video Contest. You will definately want to dust off your video camera and start shooting footage. This is SWEET!!!

Enter the Dirt Rag/GoPro Dirty Kanza 200 video contest.

The Grand Prize Winner will receive:

One free entry into the 2012 running of the Dirty Kanza 200.
