Riders, Families and Support Crews can choose to participate and enjoy from the following activities:

Thursday Evening, May 31, 2012:

7:00 pm: Movie at the Granada Theatre – Riders will be provided 2 free tickets to use at either this movie or the Saturday afternoon movie.

Friday, June 1, 2012:

9:00 am: Fun ride for anyone wanting to participate. Sponsored by The Human Power Company, riders will meet at High Gear Cyclery (520 Commercial) for an opportunity to stretch their legs and see some of the area.

11:30 am: Lunch specials around Emporia for DK200 visitors.

3:00 pm: “The Path” Movie at The Granada Theatre, presented by Salsa Cycles.  Tickets can be purchased at the door ($8.00) or by visiting emporiagranada.com.

4:00 pm: Rider sign-in begins at The Granada Theatre.

6:00 to 8:30 pm: Pasta Palooza (www.emporiafarmersmarket.org/dk200pasta.htm) at St. Andrews Church (just across the street from The Granada Theatre). Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for kids.

6:00 pm: Rider meet and greet with the public.

7:00 pm: Rider meeting and prize drawings at The Granada Theatre.

Saturday, June 2, 2012:

6:00 am: Roll out for DK200.

6:15 am: DKLite Ride (a 20 or 50-mile fun ride for support crews and locals that want to ride, but not 200 miles).

4:00 pm: Movie at The Granada Theatre (free tickets can be used at this movie or the Thursday evening movie.)

5:00 pm: Finish Line Celebration will start – the 800 and 900 blocks of Commercial Street will be blocked off.

Activities at the Dirty Kanza 200 Block Party:

  • Live music/DJ
  • Beer garden
  • Vendors
  • Food
  • Inflatable for the kids
  • Kids activities provided by the Emporia Arts Council and others.
  • Kansas City Jeep Club Show

10:00 pm: Awards ceremony

10:30 pm to Midnight: Live music

*The Granada Coffee Shop will be open Saturday morning at the start line and there will be some food vendors from our local Farmer’s Market for support crew, families, and riders.

On-going throughout the weekend, there will be events and exhibits at the brand new Emporia Arts Council (located next door the The Granada Theatre), cool window displays throughout the downtown, and specials from local businesses for out of town guests.
